Bookshelf Tour

I decided to do a vlog for my video. I thought it would be cool to go through my Bookshelf and talk about a few books on it. I think a person’s bookshelf tells a lot about them, and it would be fun sharing books I liked. I wish I could’ve gone through every book and other parts of my shelf, but it wouldn’t be under five minutes. I only did an inside look at two of my graphic novels because I wanted to highlight the importance of the style choices in them. I also thought it would be good to talk about the objects on my shelf as I always like when others do that so I know what certain things are.

The filming process did have its difficulties. I got nervous a lot and would pause for long moments forgetting what I was supposed to say. This was super frustrating as I knew what I wrote down but the words wouldn’t come out. Also whenever I tripped up on a word I would just keep messing up and force myself to stop. It would take a few moments and sometimes multiple takes to get back on track. It was also hard not to be really critical on myself and delete segments altogether. I know there’s room for improvement but I don’t want to be so overly negative on my work that I don’t want to show it to anyone.

I definitely want to find a good editing software to use because what I have now, I’m unable to do voice overs on my videos. I shot each scene with what I wanted to say and then edited the videos together into one. This made it hard when a scene was going well and I would mess up and need to start over again. I think it would be good to continue getting comfortable talking in videos since I’m very self conscious about my voice. Listening to my own voice was the hardest part of recording as well as keeping my hands steady.
